Stop Distorting the Truth

When I got my assigned verse Proverbs 1:6, the first thing that came to mind was a person driving down the freeway and getting pulled over by the State Trooper and asking, “Did I do anything wrong officer? I was just keeping up with the flow of traffic.” The flow of traffic was going 80 mph and there were cars going even faster than that, but somehow this individual got caught. We know in the back of our mind that there are laws against speeding but we throw caution to the wind because everyone else was doing it. That same principle applies to everyday life; just because everyone is doing it doesn’t make it right.

God gives us a little voice inside of us that lets us know when to walk away or when to press forward; also he gives us common sense. Sometimes we over complicate the simplest situation by asking questions when we already know the answer; or we add or subtract from what’s in front of us that’s written in black and white.

The word of God is a pure white light shining down on the world, and mankind is like a prism coming between the light and the world distorting the pureness of the light turning it into different colors all because man is questioning the truth of the Gospel and because he doesn’t like the answer he gets, the truth becomes distorted to fit mans ideal of what the truth is. We need to stop distorting the truth to fit our needs and the questioning why what happened happens when we already know the answer.
