Perseverance Pleases God More Than Patience

Life is so unpredictable. We never know when circumstances will develop, things will change, and stuff will happen that totally changes everything we know and understand.

James makes a crucial point in this verse. He points out those who are blessed are those who persevere. Not those who are the most patient, or those who give up easily. He uses Job as an example of someone who had perseverance.
Perseverance means that even when we don’t see God move, aren’t sure that the Spirit is at work, or see our way out of trouble or difficulty, we do the things we know we have to do – we pray, we study God’s Word, we assemble with other believers, we serve, and we wait until the Lord reveals His Will.

God doesn’t expect us to be perfect. He just wants us to be consistent in our faith.
