Patience please!

Growing up, you probably remember your parents saying, “Patience is a virtue.” Or “Good things come to those who wait.” Wait for dinner, wait until your birthday or wait your turn! None of us are immune to waiting, whether in a long line at the check out counter or for the end of our work day! James is simply saying, be patient, good things are to come.

The Webster’s Dictionary defines ‘patient’ as- bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint. James is promising that Our Lord IS coming. Much like the farmer, God knows He will yield a harvest and He knows when. We are valuable to Him and He is patient with us. Every crop faces hardships and has it’s season. We know that our turn will come. That is the covenant God made with us through the blood of Jesus Christ.
