RESURRECTION POWER
I was “dead” as a result of my former life. I carried around with me the weight of the mistakes I had made, the weight of the bitterness and unforgiveness towards people that had hurt me … but God!
God has resurrected each of us… raised us from lives of death, pain, hopelessness, loneliness, and bitterness. The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. (Rom 8:11) What are you doing with that? Are you sharing your story? Are you sharing your life? Are you telling others, through how you choose to live, that God has and will continue to resurrect lives? Are you giving that gift of hope? Why not?
Just as in I Kings 17:22-24, when the mother sees her son resurrected, she proclaims the truth…that the word of the Lord is true. If we never share our resurrection stories how will the lost find truth?
I Kings 17:22-24 – The LORD heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived. Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, “Look, your son is alive!” Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is the truth.”
