His plans, not my own
We human beings love to boast and brag all over ourselves but James reminds us that if the Gospel is true then all that boasting and bragging with ourselves is evil. The only boasting that we are permitted to do is boasting in the Lord and our weaknesses so that God’s strength might be shown in us through the power of the Holy Spirit within us. We just don’t know about what tomorrow will bring into our lives or what it’s going to be like…Or if we’ll be here at all, do we? So have no anxiety. Commit your way to God. The evil, the trouble, the anxiety of each day as it comes, is sufficient without perplexing the mind with restless cares about another day. It is not of our choice whether you live to see another day. If you do, it will bring its own trouble, and it will also bring the proper supply of your needs. God undeniably made clear that His plans for me were different. Bigger than what I thought was best for me. God called me to face the pains of my past so that my Girlfriends in God might face a future of freedom when they hear my testimony. His plans of emancipation required that I obey Him, listen to His voice, follow His instructions and trust Him. But God met me at my doubts. He called me to courage and is using my broken-into-beautiful story as an instrument of deliverance, truth, power and freedom. Yes – I make mistakes along the way, but God is powerful in, through, and in spite of each one. Through each surrendered day, God is leading as only He can. With power – with purpose – with love.

We all make mistakes along the way… but God! Thank you for telling your story, allowing God to use it to help others, and for directing our eyes to God through your journal entry today my friend.
