Teachers: Who should be one?

What does this mean? Not everyone will have the right skills to teach. So, what does a good teacher look like? How does he teach? What is he like? Our ultimate picture of a teacher is Jesus. He taught perfectly and had a major impact on many lives. Yet, He was judged with the greatest wrath of God. Teachers are responsible for their students and should make every effort to be sure that they teach truth. Teachers will be judged with greater strictness; they can be responsible for leading many astray.

Also, I think of leadership as a partner to teaching. Those who lead also have a responsibility. They must constantly look out for those they are leading. Jesus again is the perfect model. He led His disciples on earth, and He still leads today.

I have recently been assigned to a group project and have taken the responsibility of the leader. At about the same time, I began to dive into this verse. We had begun our project with a rough start, and this verse just said; you need wisdom and knowledge to teach. You will be judged with greater strictness, because you are the leader. And so, I will continue to lead the group and pray that God can give me the knowledge that I need to

The point of this verse for me was really that not everyone should teach, because they will not have knowledge and the skill required to teach with a positive effect. Those who do teach need to teach with God. To learn to lead and teach, asking Jesus to help them. After all, not many should teach, because those who teach will be judged with greater strictness.
