No Doubt!
Are you ever afraid to ask for something? A ride, a raise, love, forgiveness how about wisdom? Why are we so afraid to ask for things from others? Maybe we are just afraid that we will hear no or experience some other form of rejection. What about asking God for something? How bold are we when doing that and how confident are we about His response to our request?
Throughout the Bible, we are taught to ask boldly and with confidence as in Hebrews 4:16. “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
James also is telling us that when we ask, we should not doubt. The asking he is referring to here is Wisdom. Wisdom from God who gives generously to all without finding fault. So if you lack wisdom you can approach God boldly and ask Him for that wisdom, and when you do, do not doubt that He will give it to you. Do not be like a wave in the sea tossed by the wind. Do not waiver or hesitate or be uncertain. But instead, have faith, be certain, be confident and believe that you will receive it.
