She’s Just Not My Type
“She’s just not my type.” Guys, did you ever use this phrase back in your dating days? You’ve just broken up with someone and people ask why. The conversation inevitably gets around to “type”, whatever that means. It may mean she had the wrong personality. She may have been too short or too tall. Or maybe she just said “supposably”. Who knows, but there was always a reason it didn’t work out. That particular woman didn’t have some of the qualities you were looking for in a mate. Now, what if you were to fill out a profile describing that person? You go to eHarmony and start a profile. How about these qualities: radiant, holy, blameless; no stains, wrinkles or blemishes? That sounds perfect. What man wouldn’t want that? But this verse really sticks out to me because it’s the end of a sentence. I need to go back to the beginning of the sentence in verse 25 to get the whole picture. It starts with a command for husbands to love their wives. There seems to be a cause and effect here. There may times when you don’t see your wife as holy, radiant, and blameless. But, that’s when the husbands have to do a mental check. Is she being LOVED, like Christ loved the church? She’s obviously the right type. Now it’s time for us to be HER right type.

When I read this I was so thankful that I am the bride of Christ and this is the way he sees me. I am so thrilled to be HIS right type.
What’s wrong with “supposably”?
Doubtlessly, you’ve never resignated with someone who used it thusly.
Perhaps I should change my eharmony profile to say Holy and Blameless…hmmm.
Thanks for the reminder…and the exhortation to the men to to be our type…I would say that to the women as well. If you want Mr Right then become Mrs Right!
I love this!! I am go grateful that I am always God’s type despite my strggles.
