A New Attitude
Computers are great. You just starting typing away. If you aren’t satisfied with what you have written, the delete button gives you a fresh clean page to begin writing again. There are times when a delete button on my brain would come in handy. There are things I wish I could forget. Some are painful experiences or feelings. Others are just useless information I tend to hang onto, like the capital of Burkina Faso or dialogue from the 1987 classic Raising Arizona. But, while we may not have a delete button, we do start with a fresh clean page. Once we trust in Christ, we have put off that old self and are made new. One word that really stands out to me is attitude. I need to adopt Christ’s attitude when it comes to everything I encounter in a day. His love, patience, kindness are what I need instead of my indifference, anxiety, and selfishness. When I really stop and think about it. I wouldn’t want a delete button for my brain. All those experiences, both good and bad, have shaped me into who I am today. But those things don’t define me. My identity is in Christ.

Ben that was a great FOA. I agree 100% that our experiences both good and bad help shape us into who we are but as you said they don’t define who we are. I love it.
It is probably one of the most difficult changes a Believer makes. The great lie is that my own specific sins are what I am. However, Paul says we **used to** live that way; not anymore. Now we are seated with Christ. Now we are taught better. Now we can put off our old selves, like taking off dirty clothes. Now we can get rid of filthy talk, greed, bitterness, rage, slander, brawling and malice. Now we have the power to be kind and compassionate. Now we can forgive each other remembering how Jesus forgave us! (Ephesians 4)
I agree with you as well Ben. I sometimes wish I could hit the delete button too,but the experieces we go through whether good or bad is a teaching experience and in the long run make us a better Christian and eventually realise God’s way is better.
