God’s Got It All Taken Care Of… the Sooner We Realize It, the Better
Have you ever been in a place in life where you wonder how or why you got there? Or you doubt yourself and your abilities? I’ve been there a time or two myself…and not so long ago…um, yesterday. Well it’s verses like Ephesians 3:7, Romans 8:28-30, and Philippians 1:6 that cause me to pause long enough to focus on the Truth.
Here in Ephesians, Paul points to the fact that it was God, not himself, that “made” him a minister…and it was through God’s grace gift and His working power that enabled, prepared, and paved the way for him to be a successful communicator of the Gospel. It wasn’t Paul raising his hand volunteering himself…or even Paul who had what it took to do it. So not only did God call and place Paul into the position he found himself in, but he also incredibly provided him with the practical and divine gifts to do so…transforming a zealous Jew into an apostle who loved and served those he once persecuted.
Considering this in light of Paul’s writings in Romans and Philippians, I’m both encouraged and challenged…provided rest and peace, while at the same time motivated to move forward. Rather than focusing on myself and my abilities (absent of God) or the lies that the world is telling me, I must focus on Him. Pursue Him…marinate in the Word (that’s right Scott CG, I worked it in)…and seek the power of the Holy Spirit. Once there, God will calibrate my heart and mind…remind me who I am in Him and what I need to focus on today…and direct my path for tomorrow, even if it’s just the next baby step.
So what about you…what or whose lens do you look through to consider your today…your tomorrow?

Great word my friend. I’m both encouraged and challenged. I must marinate in the word now!
Doug, great words for today, tomorrow, and the next. Marinating is indeed a biblical concept (see Joshua 1:8), so I am glad you worked this in! As we do this we begin thinking more as He thinks, looking at life from His point of view. As we’re transformed by the renewing of our thoughts, we become successful in those things God appoints for us to do. Thanks brother for sharing this truth today as I need to be continually reminded.
Doug, thanks for a precious reminder of God’s faithfulness to us to take care of us while we 1) rest in Him, and 2) serve Him.
Appreciate your faithfulness to the Gospel, bro.
marinate. let the Word of Christ dwell within us richly!!
thanks Mr. Doug.

Doug/Terence, I could use a prayer to that effect to keep his focus and his prospective as I rest in him and serve him.
Thanks for the Word.
