Who’s in charge?
Eph. 1:22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church. What a different meaning this has now coming out of a year of prayer at CCC. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to serve alongside a body that truly believes that God is head at CCC.
To look back and ponder all the things we accomplished as a church and not as individuals is inspiring in and of itself, but to have God at the center of it all is simply refreshing. To know that I get to bring my family to a church that has God as the senior pastor really warms my heart. And on top of that, this church is in my home hometown, incredible. I love it when someone from my past asks me where we go to church, and then see and hear their reaction when I say CCC. I can’t help but have a little pride because of the difference we are making around Smyrna. Not just the physical but the spiritual as well. We (CCC) don’t do it because it is the right thing, we do it because we put God first and listen to his calling. This is why we are so successful in making a difference in Smyrna.
Rom. 12:5 So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. What a verse to end 2010 and start 2011. It is so exciting to know that because God is in charge, not only did CCC till the soil but we also planted the seeds throughout Smyrna to grow some pretty awesome crops for years to come.

Kevin,
It is so encouraging to see another “Smyrna boy” who has put Christ first in his life. I am also from this area and attended Campbell as all my sons did. The years go by very fast and God is alive and well in our generations. Keep working for the good of our city!
Campbell and Pebblebrook here.
The really humbling thing and the sting of reality is that in all the years I have lived in Smyrna, Christians have had so little impact, and we were content. What were we thinking? What was I thinking? It is exciting to be part of a church that takes “being the church” to the streets.
I look forward to the day when there won’t be different churches but one church. I too am blessed being a small part of what God is doing in Smyrna. I look forward to some of the things our leadership has planned for joining forces with our fellow believers in Smyrna to help Smyrna this year.
Once again Chuck, I am so proud to see the direction your faith has taken you and your dedication to serve Christ and your fellow man.
