When we praise God we are to give him our all.

This is the day that the Lord have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. Amen!

This morning please turn with me to Psalm 150. (read)

Last year while serving on the mission one of the biggest things that impressed me about the Kenyan people was how they give it everything they have when praising God. Just like the scriptures say, they were praising him in his sanctuary, with tambourine and dancing. Even further with drum, cd players, branches, lifting holy hands, with tribal yells and much more. Kenyans truly praise God with Everything!

Sometimes, we hold back on praising God with everything we have. Sometimes, we get concerned by what others will think. Have you ever been praising God in your car at a red light and toned it down when someone pulls up beside your car? Sometimes, we hold back because others are holding back and we don’t want to seem out of place. In 2 Samuel 6:14, David “danced before the Lord with all his might.” David was giving it everything he had. He wasn’t concerned about what others thought because his focus was on the Lord.

So as we begin this week with church services and fellowship in Kenyan homes, let keep our focus on the Lord. Let’s praise him with everything we have. “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
