The Perfect Equation; Truth + Love + Faith = Certainty

God is certain and magnificent in delivering strength to me in ways that I never expected. He delivers my gifts daily but they are not always in the colored wrapping paper or with the size bow that I had expected however he does deliver. In other words, energy flows where attention goes therefore if I focus on being tired, weak, uncertain, insecure I will attract more of those negative emotions. The beauty of this is that when the opposing emotions are focused on ie, love, happiness, strength, faith, patience, I receive these types of results. Pastor Allen Scott talked about different forms of tithing in his sermon on November 14, 2010 and he mentioned that if you give of your time, your time will be blessed and multiplied, if you give of your money, your money will be blessed and multiplied; if you give of your talents, your talents will be blessed and multiplied. But you have to give – take action. I believe that if you do not take action upon the acts you will not reap their benefits. So I ask you, what do you choose to focus on?

God has afforded us the beauty of free will and that includes free will of our thoughts. We have the honor of controlling our thoughts to be more encouraging, be more pure, be more loving, be more spiritual, be more forgiving, be more sensitive and all of this can be done through prayer. When I am feeling weary and tired, I look to Jesus and ask him to help me. I recollect on the journey of his life, the pain he went through, the struggles he had, and know that he can relate to me – I am not alone. I am leaving for Kenya on Thursday and came down with a terrible stomach flu on Sunday. I was in my bed for over 24 hours with an overwhelming amount to do in preparation for the trip at work and at home. I lay in bed and said to Jesus, “I know that I am a fast healer, I know that you want the best for me but I am a bit overwhelmed, tired and weak. I know this is a temporary state, will you please help me do all that I have to do.” My wonderful mother came over and completely helped me pack, organize, remain focused and of course, ensure that I was drinking enough water and not exerting too much energy. I believe that had I not asked the question for help while remaining in the right state of mind, my mother would not have known to help me. I thought that I would have woken up to feel 100% but that was not how he answered my prayers – Jesus did answer my prayer though. In all that I do, in all that I give, in all that I am – truth, love and faith of God/Jesus/Holy Spirit gives me certainty and strength to keep moving forward.

What can you focus on when you are feeling weak that will make you feel strong?
When you are in a less than desirable situation, ask what is the lesson in this?
I invite you to read Luke 1: 37.
