BUT I WANT IT, AND I WANT IT NOW!
How often do we say, “I’m waiting on you Lord?” Sometimes we wait for an answer to prayer, and it seems like FOREVER! Some of those times, we have already received the answer from God, but it is not the one we want, so we keep asking (like we are going to change His answer!)
Waiting Room, a song by Johnny Diaz, reminds me that, although I have an answer to a prayer, although it may not be the one I want, it is the one I need. God knows what we need and when we need. He has a plan, and perhaps what we think we need (and continue to pray for) might not fit into that plan. Is my plan better than His? Uh, NOT!
My favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11 reminds me of that very fact: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Remember, God has planned greatness for each and every one of us. Although we don’t get what we think we need when we want it, we can rest in His plan – maybe there is something bigger and better than we could ever ask or think in store and He doesn’t want us to settle for less than He has for us.
It is tough to wait for answers to our prayers. I know in my heart God is on controll but it is hard to tell my head, hands and feet wait on God. I agree that we need to remember God has great plans and wait.
