Use Me

I remember it like it was yesterday but it wasn’t it was 26 years ago. I was 13, at youth camp and struggling with God and what he was telling me to do with my life. He was calling me into the youth ministry and I was pretty sure that God could not use me. I have a learning disability and a lot of things were very hard for me. I had all but convinced myself that I was not the right person to be a youth pastor. It was not until I became an adult that I finally realized (through much prayer) that he was not calling me to be a youth pastor but to simply serve him through youth ministry. One of the hardest but most rewarding things I have ever done is just saying ok. It was at this point that I said here am I Lord use me! It did not take long once I said use me to be led to a place to serve. As I learn and grow daily in him I have come to realize that his calling is always there but the job maybe different. As I strive to follow his calling and wonder if I can do what he is calling me to do I always recall Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I stand in awe at the plans God has had for me so far and I can honestly say that they were no were near the plans that I had for myself. His plan always seem to take me way out of my comfort zone but it is really comforting to know that he is always there e for me helping me do whatever it is he calls me to do. Here I am once again saying Lord use me. I can’t wait to see what God has planned for me as a new FUEL leader.
