Choose Wisely
It amazes me every time the bible uses the word Perfection. I think sometimes we use the term so loosely that it has begun to loose it true meaning…just like the words love and hate. We throw these terms around and each time we do we slowly change the true meaning. ‘I love him’ or ‘I hate those’ or ‘a perfect body’. What does it really mean? Do we even know anymore? If you love someone, how much time do you spend each day thinking about them, talking to them, and doing things that make them happy? The real meaning of hate is: to be unwilling; dislike. To be unwilling means you love yourself so much more than you love that other person that you are unwilling to forgive. What if Jesus had been unwilling, He had many reasons to do so. A perfect body, the only perfect body I know hung on that cross and His perfect blood was shed as a perfect sacrifice. All so that we might have a way. Now what body can measure up to that? Know that when we speak, our words impact the world around us…they impact your children, our children. Know that we can use this power that God has given us to bring life or death? I choose wisely and try to show our kids that the bible is more than a bunch of words in books and chapters, it’s a lifestyle. A lifestyle that needs to be practiced each and every day.

Wowzers! I love it when God speaks something to us individually and then reinforces the truth through someone else! I was just thinking about how powerful words are and how they impact children, so I am thankful that you explained even more so how we should “choose wisely”. Thanks Amy! I totally see God in your lifestyle and am so blessed to know you
Amy, thanks so much. I really needed to hear this today. I am very thankful for your wisdom and for your friendship. I know that you make an impact everyday not only in the lives of FUEL students, but also on the people you interact with on a regular basis. Thanks for being a great example for me and for all those around you!
