Be The Person Your Dog Things You Are
I was raised by my grandfather. He and I were two peas in a pod. I thought the world of him and he felt the same about me. He had respect for others and a lot of patience to deal with a teenage girl as he aged. Most of life’s lessons I’ve learned from him, was by his example. My grandfather was diligent and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He read his bible daily and took me to church every Sunday. He gave me $1 so that I could “tithe”. I was so proud of my ‘Sunday dollar’. I looked up to him and to this day I still think of him before I make any decisions.
As a Fuel leader it is my responsibility to be an example to the students around me. I can be serious or I can clown around with them. My main goal is to get them to Christ. If that means I have to sit and play video games, take them to catch a movie or chase them around the church, so be it.
I love being a Fuel leader and I hope that as students grow and lead their own lives, they will always follow the path Jesus has set for them. I’d like to think that I had something to do with that.

Niki,
I actually do know who you are. You hang out with my daughter sometimes. You FUEL student leaders may or may not understand now the impact that you have, but I guarantee you will later on. It’s called “carrying the fire,” or “paying it forward” or just “passing it on,” but your legacy is Believers sold out to Jesus for generations to come. Stay with it and grow more.
1 Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. “
As a parent having adults like you in our teenagers life is one of the teasures we pray for as parents. My boys see Jesus in you, feel loved by you and will go to church when they don’t really feel like it, to be chased around the church or to know they are loved by you. I know what you mean about being the person our dog sees us as. Those are big shoes to fill, you know what I mean, you know our Lilly. love you and thank you.

The Scotts kids know you, AND you know the Scott kids. We are very grateful for that.
Thanks for all you do. Thanks for helping shape our kids faith. Thanks for pointing them to Jesus by the way you live. Thanks for spilling your lemonade…
blessings!

Thanks Niki…for your words of encouragement and challenge, for sharing about your grandfather, AND for showing Jesus to CCC’s youth! Although my girls aren’t in FUEL yet…I’m already praying for other adults (like you) in their lives when they are in Jr./High School to help Britt and me as parents point them to the Truth. Thanks for all you do in and around CCC…you’re clearly a blessing to so many. Take care my friend, Doug
Thank you for your heart and being the leader you are. You are a great example for my daughter.
Love you
