Silence in the Storm
Sometimes we find it hard to pray. We can’t find the words to use, or we don’t even know what we ourselves are struggling with. From time to time, we tend to get stressed out. It happens to all of us at some point in our lives. And when those times come we find it frustrating when we don’t have a clue what to do. Sometimes we may be struggling with a decision and want to know God’s will. And sometimes we may be wondering why God let something happen in our lives. We pray and pray, and ask God for guidance and answers, but we don’t seem to get any replies, or any clear signs or signals telling us which way to go, or the reasons for our pain. When we just want some sort of answer and It doesn’t seem like God is even listening. This is a not so uncommon occurrence in the bible. Many of David’s psalms show examples of this, but all of them come back to the same conclusion. God is in control. Psalms 46:10 says “Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth”. Sometimes when we pray we just need to stop and realize that our crisis is not the end of the world. God is in charge, and just because we can’t see the whole picture doesn’t mean that it’ll turn out for the worse in the end. In fact, scripture tells the exact opposite. Romans says that we know that all things work together for good to them that love God. God reminds us that he sees the sparrow falls, and that we are so much more so on his mind. So when we pray, it would do us good to pause for a moment in the realization of who He is, and how small our crises really are. With that knowledge we may find it easier to find peace in the storm and wait for his answer.

Good reminder, Chris! Thanks for this…
