Hind Sight 20/20…My Faith Sight should be 20/20!
I could say its luck, but in reality it was God that brought Tim and I together 26 plus years ago. We met in a Singles Class at church and on a Singles planned activity to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, our tickets had us sitting beside each other and we spent the entire evening talking; never even watching the circus! Looking back, I see how God planned the event, our seats being next to each other, the time spent getting to know one another. Since that “chance encounter” we have had a lifetime of moments where God has been in control of our lives. The only thing is I usually see it as 20/20 hind sight that let me know God was in control.
God has revealed His will for us over the years in various ways. When we moved to a small town to raise our son only to find out that the small town atmosphere wasn’t for me and needed to get back to Marietta as quickly as possible, God tested our faith and perseverance by allowing us to wait two and one half years to sell our house! Then, when I wanted more that one child, going through five miscarriages after the birth of our son and one failed adoption, God again showed me that His plan was going to be sufficient for me when years later I would be housing our niece, nephew and my mother-in-law! Through job loss and prosperity, family relationship struggles and victories, financial ups and downs God has been faithful, showing us He is in control of our lives. It is comforting to read in Psalm 139 that God continues to weave our lives into the plan he has for us especially if we allow God to fill the hole in our heart with His great plan!
I continue to pray for God to be in control, however, there are days when I fall short and don’t rest on the promise that His plan for my life will prosper me, not bring me harm, give me hope and a future with my Heavenly Father!

I too think looking back it is easier to see what God was doing then when you are in the mist of life. I have been married to my best friend for 25 years. It is fun to look back and see how we were raised and living hundreds of miles a part before we met. If either of us had not listened to God leading us to the same city we wouldn’t have met each other.

Amy,
What a beautiful testimony of God’s faithfulness!
As a couple, your devotion to each other is so encouraging and shows God’s true love in action.
Our “group” is one of the best!!
