God is always there…just like my dog!

You are probably wondering if I have spelling issues or am just being blasphemous.  Bear with me.  I am not saying dogs, especially mine, are perfect, but there are a few simple analogies that can be made between our loving God and "man’s best friend."  My husband and I both work and therefore have to leave our dog at home for several hours most days, and occasionally there are weekends when we have to leave town and drop Lilly off with our trusted vet.  No matter if we are out of the house for several seconds to throw out some trash or gone for a week over the holidays, our beloved dog always greets us the same exact way: wagging tail, huge grin, and super excited to see us.  God is the same.  No matter how long it has been since we have met with Him or talked with Him, He will be right there waiting eagerly to greet us and shower us with His love and affection.  Also, just like the verse above, when we call our dog, she is right there near to us.  She will sit with us for as long as we like and listen to all of our grumblings and concerns.  God is faithful and he is always near to listen.  All of this is rooted in God’s agape love…a love with no conditions.  So let’s talk to Him, because no matter what we’ve done, no matter how long we’ve neglected Him, our God is always there…just like my dog!
