Barrabas vs. Jesus
When I first read this scripture I just couldn’t help but to think what the heck was this Pilate guy thinking? Talk about giving in to peer pressure. He knew what the right decision was, but still gave into the screaming crowd. I mean how could he possibly choose an innocent man over a murderer? The right decision is so obvious, yet he chose the easy way out. The thing is, Jesus knew what the outcome was going to be, he already knew his fate. The TRUE test and trial was for Pilate, and Jesus was the judge and still is the judge. Pilate gave in and obviously did not choose Jesus. We are just as guilty today in everday decisions…except it’s, Jesus or gossip, Jesus or Television, Jesus or sex before marriage, Jesus or drugs, hopefully you get the point. Big or small, God gives us free will, so it’s up to us to decide who and what we put first in our lives. So the question is, what have you decided about Jesus?

That is an excellent point, Jess! I think it’s interesting that in the midst of God’s ultimate and greatest plan to save all of humanity, Pilate still had a choice through it all. And although he did choose the east way out, it was that choice that completely set into motion the greatest act of love and sacrifice ever- Jesus giving His life, providing a way for us to have a close relationship with God our Father.
Love you, girl!

Tough scripture to write about. Good job it made me think about what large and small choices I make everyday. How those choices effect my life. thankfully the biggest choice, to follow Jesus, was done a long time ago. It has changed my past ,present and future.
Thank you for teaching me this morning. I didn’t see this perspective until now and I think you nailed it. Thanks Jessica for your heart and spirit that you show all of us. We are so glad you are part of our Family.
Thanks for the reminder today Jess! I love you! The people these days (aka the World) seem to scream the loudest…and they win. Where is our voice? Why do we listen to the pressures of our “peers”? Why is it so hard to choose wisely sometimes and to hear the Lords voice when we know that choosing Jesus is always the best choice? Thankfully, we are not alone in this. We can grasp to the Savior for wisdom and strength. Let’s pray the World will one day too grasp to the Savior and His voice will be the only one heard.
