Everyone dies like flies
Several years ago we lived in New Mexico. Eric, my Dad and I served in the Children’s ministry. It was one of the best times we can remember. These kids came from really tough families, hard situations and a lot of abuse. Every Sunday if the children could recite a verse they would get a reward. Every Sunday many of them would come to us and recite “Everyone dies like flies”. They always got a reward!!! The reason was not because we were giving them an easy way out, but because of the passage it came from. These kids lived on this battlefield everyday. Teenage pregnancy was the highest in the nation and most of these kids felt as if there was no way out. Even though what we wanted them to get was “Help is on the way”. Their favorite part was “we all die like flies”. However they remembered, our prayer was they would never forget.
In today’s world with jobs at a loss and the world changing as we know it. Make no mistake the war rages on. What surrounds us could be anything from financial struggles to drug or alcohol abuse. Sometimes it can even be the battlefield in our minds. Past hurts or losses invade our thoughts. Defeat seems to be around every corner. As the translation in The Message puts it “the powers that be a quaking” The really cool thing about having Jesus Christ as our Savior is that” Help is on the way.” No matter how it looks, no matter how dark it may seem. The passage starts out a bit scary and then just as the despair is around us and just as sure as we will drop like flies, we have a Savior who promises that he will be there to lift us up and heal our life. He tells us “Snap out of it! Hold your head up high!” He is on the battlefield with us! The encouragement this passage gives us is so amazing, it covers it all, every situation. He understands and hears our prayers. Help is on the way.

Amen! I can’t wait for that day.
Thank you,Gloria
wow. great stuff gloria. thanks for your heart and words… and family. We’re glad you are all with us at CCC.
We really are in a battle everyday. The important thing to remember is that Jesus is on our side fighting for us and not against us. We feel defeated in many ways but that is from Satan because we are more than conquers through Jesus Christ our LORD.
Thank Gloria for the encouragement.
