Jesus gives more than cash for clunkers

This verse comes to us in the middle of a tricky debate that the Sadducees tried to start with Jesus.  What the Sadducees learned is that you can’t play around with Jesus.  It is impossible to trap our all knowing Savior with words and theology.

Where we pick up with the story Jesus is talking about a transformation that will one day occur to us who believe in Him.

Right now we are limited in our mortality but resurrection life has the qualities of eternity.  Jesus says we will not die.  Things will be totally different than our expectations of normal.  Marriage & loneliness – these won’t any longer be a concern.  All things will be made complete.  It will be an entirely new form of existence.  Jesus says we will be like the angels.  What does that mean?  I don’t really know because I haven’t hung out with any heavenly angels.  But my FAITH believes that being like an angel is going to be super cool.  Another question:  Is the reason why there’s no marriage in heaven because we are all too young being God’s children?  Hmm.  Cool thought.  But what we learned earlier in this passage is that you can’t apply human reasoning & logic to a divine concept like life in heaven after the resurrection.

I am thankful for the resurrection of our savior Jesus.  Without it there is no eternal life.  And living a life on earth without Jesus is no life to live at all.   So do you hold your faith in Christ?  I hope so.

1 John 3:1-3  What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who He is or what He’s up to.  But friends, that’s exactly who we are: children of God. And that’s only the beginning. Who knows how we’ll end up! What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see Him—and in seeing Him, become like Him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own.  (The Message)
