It’s the Small Things
We have a lot we can learn from kids, and that is one of the reasons I try to spend as much time as possible in Studio C3, its very rare that a Sunday goes by without having seen or heard something that a child has done that makes think. It’s not that every week a kid comes up and explains Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, (although that has happened before) it’s the small things. When kids play together there is no cool kids group, there’s no nerds, they are all friends and they stay friends, even if the week before one was upset with the other it’s out of their minds by the time they come back to Church. Kids never give up either, seriously they never give up, we have a bag of candy that we give out at certain times and if a kid wants a piece of candy they will do whatever they have to so they can have a piece. Kids keep it simple, when they are learning things, they don’t try to find ways to complicate it, if the bible says love one another, they love one another. Kids live, if you walk into Studio C3 you’ll see this, if its recreation time they will be playing there hearts out, if its worship time they will be dancing, trying to get up on chairs jumping up and down, they don’t have a care in the world except for what’s going on right in front of them and they are doing it to the max. Kids have faith, there is a reason they say, “Have childlike faith,” kids believe, they believe in the adults around them, they believe in Santa Clause, but most importantly they believe in Jesus Christ, what he has done, what he is capable of, and that he loves them. So when I read Matthew 18:1-3 I think about how I can mold my life to match that of the children, to never give up and endure whatever comes my way, to keep life simple knowing that God called me to love him and love people, to not just live but thrive, and to have faith in my infinite and all powerful God.

Thank you, Chris, for serving at CCC. You and others who serve are very, very much appreciated. Your message is a good reminder for me today. I want so much to worry about tomorrow, next week, next month. I want to find all the answers – now. But I should be like a child and know that my Father has it covered. All I need to do is concentrate on today.
