Nearly Impossible

In order to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven we must also be freed from the love of money and worldly possessions. We must give willingly and freely of what we have to the poor and those in need – Love your neighbor as yourself. We should look after others as we look after ourselves. Jesus said take ALL you have and distribute to the poor. Not what you don’t need anymore or what you might have too much of.

I see that the love of material things is a god that others may worship. But God tells us “You shall have no other gods before Me.” Ex. 20:3 “No servant can have two masters. Either he will love the one and hate the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” Lk. 16:13I find it interesting that He uses the word ‘hate’. This would mean, combined with my belief, that I would despise the sight of riches and wealth, it would crawl under my skin, and it does! I believe that as we grow closer and closer into our relationship with God that the desire for material things lessen & lessen. Our hearts become transformed and open to the needs of others and our possessions become solely tools to be used for His glory. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Mt.6:21 Where our heart is, our worship is also.

“For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of needle than a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Lk. 18:25 That means immensely difficult. That means nearly impossible. To me this means we have an awesome and justly God!!!
