Seek Clarity
Eternity is coming. Regardless of one’s stance as it pertains to religion or faith, I presume all would agree this is a fact.
I then ask myself questions such as:
Is access to eternity something all will be granted?
Is there one way to spend eternity that is better than another?
Is your mind clear as to the answer to questions such as these?
For those who have the utmost confidence there is in fact eternity and that there is a clear path or gateway for access to eternity, the future is clear. For those who are unsure of the answers to the above questions, one would assume it may be worthwhile to delve into the issue/question(s).
From a Christian perspective, Matthew 7:21 is clear in that there is not but one way to gain access to eternity – thru Christ – and that simply asking to enter will not suffice. Perhaps “Hell” may be defined as the absence of eternal life and only being able to experience the wonders of God as displayed to us during our brief life here on earth?
For me, personally, I am clear in some areas and not so in others. Therefore, to seek clarity and learn more about things of which I am not very clear are but a few of the many reasons why I choose to attend CCC.

It is clear to me that if I am to spend eternity with God I need a relationship with Him. It is a great gift and privalge to be called a daughter of Christ. I am awed that He would want a relationship with me. Praise God He has given us a door to knock on and that the God of Heaven opens that door personally for us to enter in. Thanks Todd for sharing.
Please pray for John Jr today as he serves in Kenya.
i’ve found the way to answer your questions is through a relational thing with Jesus.
Religion just can’t answer these questions, but rather compounds the problems/questions, and gives more “to do” in trying to find the answers. That is a treadmill not worth getting on. It’s a trap that pushes people away from God and not closer to. Religion squashes and hides the relationship. How sad. What looks to be the answer on the outside, can destroy what God wants to do on the inside.
God says if we seek him with all our hearts (that’s a very relational thing), then we will find him. That’s so beyond a religious check list. If I only did a marriage check list thing (washed the dishes… CHECK!), the relationship with Sherry would go south in a hurry.
Graciously, God has set eternity within our hearts (according to Eccl.). That longing, questioning, doubting, and hunger is from God and points us to God! How cool!
OK… enough preaching here!
Todd, thanks for these words. Keep searching out this relational thing with Jesus. You are at very good place!
blessings my friend,
alan
If this verse alone were the basis for knowledge on how to access the kingdom of heaven, then I might also wonder with Todd’s list of questions:
Does a person need to know Christ in order to do the will of the Father? There can be love, desire, worship, and thirst for God, but still confusion, disbelief, and doubts about the “Son”.
This line of questioning does make one desire clarity. My desire for clarity must then satisfy many facets of my life: logical mind, emotional mind, relational mind, physical self, spiritual self…
Perhaps the satisfaction/clarity is found in the seeking? Just like the joy of marriage is found in the journey together through life…
Thanks Todd for some deep thoughts.
