Plant Food For Humans
I love to write. I enjoy putting words to paper, bit by bit, and creating something that reads well and makes a point. I wish I could say that whatever writing talent I have came naturally and easily, and that all I have to do to is want to write, then I sit down, and the right words and phrases flow easily and effortlessly from my typing. The reality is that writing is a struggle – I write, rewrite, save, discard, and spend lots of time staring at my monitor, staring into space, and wishing that I could take a chainsaw to my writer’s block. Writing is a process and a discipline. It doesn’t happen without being willing to engage in the hard work and repetitive nature of write, rewrite, edit, proof, and polish.
Just like the writing process, life is tough from the time you’re given responsibility without a backup plan. Deadlines, commitments, and maintaining healthy relationships all take more time and energy that we ever thought they would in our youth, when we thought that all we had to do is desire something and it would happen. Everything we accomplish through human means requires toil and effort. And that toil and effort by itself is never enough.
But God in His Greatness never leaves us without resources, and through everything we have to go through, He has given us two things that help us to survive our busy, crazy lives. One is the ability to have faith. Exercising faith is our way of acknowledging that there is more to life than us. We don’t get as discouraged when we remember that it’s not about us, but it’s about God and other people. Partnering with faith to help keep us sane is the capacity to love. Love allows us to give others what they need without expecting anything in return. And sometimes, we even get love in return.
Jesus is the reason that we can draw on faith, and working from a foundation of love, we can experience the love of God in all its fullness.





Ironic that we must work so hard to obtain the things that we desire, yet by fully surrendering our efforts we obtain that which satisfies all desire. But am i rooted and established in love? When a tree produces its fruit, there is no doubting what type of tree it is. Where are my roots? What is my fruit?
When I see therefor or so that or I like to see what came before it. Eph. 3 is a great chapter It turns out that faith comes through His Spirit amd power. “16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,” so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Today I need your power Lord give me strengh when I don’t have any of my own. Thankyou Lord for dwelling in my heart. You never leave me or forsake me.
Thanks Terence. Writing for me is a chore. I wish I were better at it but I am not. Sometimes after agonizingly working through a writing assignment, I surprise myself and the result is something that has flow and makes sense. At times, life can be the same way. Thankfully we do have faith for when we are agonizingly working through a life issue or challenge. And usually when I come out the other side, I see God’s purpose. And thankfully we have Terence Allen who has the capacity to love people through their struggles. Love you brother.
To Herb,… you were rooted and established in Christ’s love. Fear not what fruit you’ll bear. Just abide. His trees don’t bear no junk.
