The Power of the Word of God

We all get concerned for those we love. We try to help and it seems to no avail. Frustration sets in so we worry and think of more drastic ways to grab their attention. We become like the rich man who says “BUT IF “. We translate that “If only”. Have you walked down the road of “if only” with someone you love who you see heading for destruction?

If only they would go to church, if only they would go to rehab, if only they would listen to me, if only a miracle happened to them. If only someone would come back from the dead and shake them up.

When the phrase “Moses and the Prophets” is used that means in our times The Bible. All those that I love and have concern for need the bible. If they do not have a bible the best thing I can do is get them one and then pray and encourage them to read it. The word of God is described in Hebrews 4:12 from The Message translation……

12-13God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it—no matter what.

Or the New International version……

12For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

God’s word is the most powerful change agent n the world. If they will not read and listen to the word of God this verse says they will not be convinced. Do you believe in he supernatural power of the Word of God? Do you believe that the Bible has the power to change lives or do you continue to worry and fret over those you love scheming up ways to get them to believe?
