Boxing Day 2008
I know most of you have never heard of Boxing Day. I can hear you saying what is that? Boxing Day is the day after Christmas that is recognized as a national holiday in the Queen’s realm including Canada. Boxing Day dates back to a time when the practice of giving gifts to employees or to people in a lower social class took place the day after Christmas. Now it is similar to Black Friday in America. Happy Boxing Day! Happy shopping!
What does this have to do with the scripture for today, nothing? Just wanted to educate you a little.
As I sit looking at all my gifts from yesterday I wonder am I worthy of all this kindness? No. But like in the verse I pray that I might be worthy and live a life pleasing to all that love me. Received gifts help us to be reminded of the love that people have for us and in turn we should try to live a life worthy of that love. The greatest gift I have been given was the gift of eternal life that I received at age17. How do I live a life that is worthy or appreciative of that great gift? Paul tells us there are two ways, one bearing fruit in every good work and two growing in the knowledge of God.
If we are truly appreciative of all that God has done for us let us be filled with good works toward those we love and our enemies. This week think of ways to show random acts of kindness to everyone around you as a sign of your gratitude to God.
Secondly, grow in the knowledge of God. Make a commitment to study the bible more and grow in your personal relationship with God(prayer). He loves us so much and simply wants to be a friend and a father to us. In appreciation we need to set time aside to grow in our knowledge of God and be filled with good works. Appreciation shows!

Rob… we are going to set aside some special time tonight as a family. We want to show appreciation for Jesus and his providential hand in our family. Thanks. U DA MAN.
Thank you Rob for your inspiration. Sometimes it’s difficult to know how to show God our appreciation, but as you have shown us, it’s spelled out for us in the bible.
Rob,
