Drawn To Be True Blue

God the Father desires to draw us to Him.  It’s clear throughout the Bible that God clearly desires us so much that He draws us to Him through His Son.  In Jesus’ own words, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him.” (John 6:44 NIV)

God the Father also desires to draw us into worship with Him.  Not so much from the perspective of God demanding to be worshiped, but rather presenting us the opportunity to be worshipers.  We are to become worshipers of Him whose hearts are given up and surrendered.  The reason that He desires us as worshipers is so that we together can reclaim the unity that He desired for us in the very beginning when He created the earth.  He knows how we’re wired; he wired us!  He draws us to Him by our worship of Him.

God also knows that we are drawn to worship many things.  In its simplest form, worship is the act of telling someone or something their worth-ship; telling them how much they are worth to us.  And God, being a jealous God, wants us for himself.  He wants us to be true to Him.  Psalm 22:3 says “God inhabits the praises of His people.”  That word ‘inhabits’ is a very intimate word.  As intimate as marriage.  And as we desire our mate to be ‘true-blue’ with us, God desires to ‘inhabit us in truth.’

I would encourage you to put God in the very highest place in your life and tell Him just how much He means to you.  Tell Him how much you love Him.  Tell him just how much He is WORTH to you.
With no other gods before Him, worship is your act of being ‘true-blue’ to God.
